As unexpected as your grandma banging out a rap track, Simian Mobile Disco move away from their remixes of The Klaxons and such and release this, which I which I would love to describe as 'a summation of all the parts where nothing needs to be added, altered or taken away' but unfortunately, there are some parts that need to be altered. The opening track totally reminds me of the sleepless nights where I don't actually care that I can't sleep, and then the album breaks down into some tracks that take you down to the party, whether you want to go or not, and still enjoy it! In a sentence, this track makes you feel good and it's enjoyable, albeit you can tell they look up to The Chemical Brothers too much but who cares, right?
However, the sense of repetitive beats does come to mind, I do like the new take on digital music that this pair have taken, but after Sleep Deprivation it feels like it lacks. If you want to hear Simian Mobile Disco at their best, go see them live, they are one of the most amazing acts I've seen in my life.
